IECXEx CoPC Unit 009 | Design Electrical Installations
in or associated with explosive atmospheres
Why Unit 009 Matters
IECEx CoPC Unit 009 matters because it focuses on the design of electrical systems for hazardous areas, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose from the outset. It enables professionals to develop effective explosion-protection solutions, reducing risks, avoiding costly redesigns, and ensuring installations meet international standards throughout their lifecycle.
Course Overview
Course Overview
This unit of competence covers the explosion-protection aspects involved in the design of electrical power, control, and instrumentation systems for hazardous areas.
It includes the ability to develop design briefs, select appropriate Ex equipment, and deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective explosion-protection design solutions.
The unit is based on the requirements of the IEC 60079-14 and other applicable standards.
